Dan is a successful small business owner, having grown and developed his own business into one of Oregon’s top ranked small businesses. He’s also managed and operated 3 restaurants and been an active member in organizations looking to better economic growth and opportunity in Salem. Right now, Oregon’s business climate is moving in the wrong direction. Due to the Democrats in Salem passing a far-left agenda and partisan politics, businesses are fleeing the state, getting harder to operate, and economic diversity is crumbling. That leaves hard-working Oregonians without opportunities and the ability make a better life for themselves. Instead of focusing on a partisan, job-killing agenda, Dan will take his business experience to the Capitol to build a business-friendly environment where all residents can thrive and help get Oregon’s economy back on track.

Democrats have shown that they care more about protecting criminals than victims, and their policies have made our communities more dangerous. We should be doing more to support our law enforcement officers, first responders, and those who have put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. To do this, we should be more proactive about providing them with the resources and they need to do their jobs.

Our current elected officials in Salem have continued to put our children last and their failed policies during this pandemic only continues to prove that. From masks in schools to hyper-partisan policies like Critical Race Theory and remote learning, the classroom has become a political stage and our children are the ones who are hurt by it. It’s time to get politics out of the classroom and refocus on educating our kids and providing them with the opportunities for success in life. As the rest of society begins to move towards a normal life after the pandemic, it’s time to get our schools and children moving in the same direction too.

When our elected officials consider public policy, the question should be asked – are we making a smart, efficient investment, and does it produce a positive outcome that is proportional to the investment. Too often, our elected officials recklessly throw tax-payer dollars towards problems, treat symptoms and not the actual issues, or make large investments only to make little progress towards a desired outcome. In government, we need to be stewards of the dollars we’re investing and policies we’re enacting, and true growth and positive development is a result of smart investments.
